Café Scientifique with Dr.Stève Baranton from Université de Poitiers

The Deparment of Chemistry, with the Consulate General of France in Toronto, will host Dr. Stève Baranton, Université de Poitiers on Thursday, March 5th. Dr. Baranton will present his lecture: Nanomaterials for Electrochemical Hydrogen Conversion into Energy in room 202 in Chernoff Hall. All are welcome!

 

Explore research, solve clues, and win prizes with the Research Matters Virtual Scavenger Hunt

Toronto, January 29, 2014 – Ontario universities are launching a Virtual Scavenger Hunt that will take the public on an intriguing online journey through the world of research at the province’s 21 publicly assisted universities, the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) announced today.

The month-long contest, which begins February 3, is open to students and the general public. Contestants can solve new clues every day to enter for prizes. Intrepid scavengers who get all 21 clues correct will be able to unlock a secret message that they can then submit to be entered for grand prizes.

Undergraduate Student Summer Research Program (USSRP)

Continuing undergraduate students who would like to pursue research in the fields of social science, humanities, and education are encouraged to apply for the 16-week Undergraduate Student Summer Research Program (USSRP) that will run  from May to August, 2011.  Twenty studentships are available, and will provide $6000 of funding to each successful student.

Review of Federal Support to Research and Development

On December 21, 2010, an independent expert panel reviewing federal support to R&D released its consultation paper, and with it, launched a national public consultation process.  The mandate of the panel is to provide recommendations to the Government of Canada on how to maximize the impact of its R&D dollars, and the consultation paper provides background information regarding the consultation process.
