For Canadian Students ONLY:

Information on dietary preferences, medical conditions or allergies

  • Fill this form to provide your dietary preferences , food allergies (e.g. fish, lactose, gluten), and other medical conditions or allergies. Need to be clear that diet is for major food preferences only (e.g.allergies, religious practices etc. It should be a fillable form that you can e-sign but should you need to, please print off, fill out, scan and then return to us. 
  • For medications please be as complete as possible - this information, should we need to seek medical attention on your behalf, we will use to help you.

Pickup location:

  • If you are driving by yourself, please arrive QUBS before 5:00 PM Sunday, ​Driving Instructions shown here. There will be a van traveling from Queen's University to the station on Sunday 3:00 PM at Bioscience complex, Queen's University (116 Barrie st.), if you need a ride, please inform us 2 days in advance.

Deposit:

The deposit you paid to your home university will be transferred to us directly. You will need to bring the remaining amount with cheque, certified cheque, or cash. If you are sending a cheque to us, please pay to Queen's University.


For Chinese Students ONLY:

Field Course agreement & Deposit:

  • Please download this file: Chinese Field Course Agreement
  • Please print and read this agreement carefully, have your name signed in the signature block on page 2-6, your parent's signature on page 6, then return signed pages to teacher-in-charge at your home university by May 20th, 2019
  • Hand in your deposit to teacher-in-charge at the same time. Your deposit will be held by your home university and returned upon completion of the course
  • Please pay the course fee ($2400 CAD) through e-transfer or by cheque. e-transfers should be sent to yuxiangw@queensu.ca. If you pay by cheque instead, please make the cheque payable to "Queen's University", with the memo: "2019 Sino-Canada Field Course". It should be sent to the following address:

VISA Information & application package:

  • Make sure your passport has at least 6 months of validity. If not, please get/renew your passport as soon as possible. We need your passport information to issue an invitation letter for your visa application.
  • Please download and read the visa instruction file: "Visa Instructions"
  • The invitation letter, course description and the tentative itinerary will be sent to you by email. The course description and itinerary will also be available here.

Flight Information:

  • Outbound : July 25th, 2019, 17:15 – 19:10 (Air Canada AC 28), Pudong (PVG) to Toronto (YYZ)
  • Inbound: August 12th, 2019, 13:00 to 15:15 (Air Canada AC 28), Toronto (YYZ) to Pudong (PVG)
  • You need to coordinate your transportation in China to get to Pudong Airport in Shanghai, and also to book your connecting transportation on your returning date. For those of you traveling to Shanghai from other places, you will need to budget your time allowing ample connection time. Also consider the option of going to Shanghai the night before in case the potential delay of domestic flights. Dr. Jihua Wu from Fudan University will meet you at Pudong Airport.
  • Although the departure flight is in the afternoon on August 12th, but you will need to be at the airport at least 3 hr in advance for security check, border clearance and buffer gathering time for our class. 
  • We will pick you up from Toronto Pearson Airport on July 25th.
