Join the Queen's Jewish Alumni Chapter for their first event of 2024. This virtual webinar will feature Dr. Oded Halkai and Dr. Neil Orlowsky as they discuss contemporary Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices within educational institutions and the workplace, and how they may be failing some equity seeking groups, including those who are Jewish. The discussion will be moderated by Jewish Alumni Chapter President, Rabbi Erin Polansky, Artsci'95, and guests will have the opportunity to ask questions.

About the Speakers:

Dr. Oded Haklai has been teaching at Queen’s in the Department of Political Studies since 2004 and is the author of Palestinian Ethnonationalism in Israel (2011) which was awarded the Shapiro Award for best book in Israel Studies. 

Dr. Neil Orlowsky is the Director of Education and Chair of Global Education with the Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI). Dr. Orlowsky holds various degrees with a focus on Israeli and Palestinian education.
