Why Choose Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering at Queen's?
Queen’s Geology is a unique department in that it offers programs in both Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.
Queen's has one of the largest dedicated geology departments in Canada. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including an X-ray Diffraction and Clay Mineral Lab, a Computational Geomechanics Lab, and Stable Isotope and ICP/MS Lab to name a few. For a complete list of facilities and services offered by the department visit the facilities & services webpage.
We are a small, friendly department. You will get to know your classmates and professors well and have a say in program and departmental governance.
There are many opportunities at the undergraduate level for gaining field experience. These opportunities allow students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom in a real world setting and help them secure a job during the summer months and after graduation.
