Managing a Budget at Queen’s: A Departmental Perspective

Date

Tuesday November 19, 2024
10:00 am - 11:00 am

Location

Virtual Session

Do you manage operational, trust, revenue-generating, or endowment accounts at Queen’s? Are there so many terms and acronyms that things are a bit hazy? Is the annual budgeting process a bit of a mystery or you’d like to learn more?

Join Sarah Indewey MPA, Department Manager for Psychology and the community-facing Psychology Clinic for practical tips and tricks from the field. Ms. Indewey has been managing financial processes for over 20 years at Queen’s, from generating revenue in Advancement, to managing over $40M in research funds, and $10M in operating accounts.

This virtual session will be a practical conversation, absent of acronyms and jargon, focused on actionable advice from someone who has been there. Our desired outcome is less budget-related stress for you and to develop a network of people you can turn to for advice. Additional financial learning resources and a bit about broader public-sector financial management will also be provided.

This virtual session is being presented at no cost by Queen’s Advancing Leadership Group (formerly “FLAG”) in partnership with Queen’s Human Resources. Please RSVP early, and a calendar invitation will follow. Registration will close on Friday, November 15.
