Setting a path toward our next century
The world is changing rapidly, and higher education is changing with it. Global uncertainty, accelerating technology, and a growing responsibility to serve society more equitably and sustainably are reshaping the role universities play.
Queen’s has navigated periods of change for generations, guided by a shared purpose and a commitment to the public good. Now, as we approach our 200th year in 2041, we are defining who we will be and the role we will play through the release of Queen's Bicentennial Vision.
Queen's Bicentennial Vision sets a clear direction by answering four fundamental questions that will guide our decisions and actions over the coming decades.
Four questions shaping our future
Who will we be as we enter our third century?
What principles and objectives will unite us as we preserve our distinctive strengths and pursue new directions?
What key capabilities and supports must be in place to move the university forward together?
How will we translate our ambitions into action and impact?

How we created our Bicentennial Vision
Our Bicentennial Vision was shaped through wide community engagement reflecting the insight and imagination of faculty, staff, students, alumni, Indigenous partners, and university leaders. Together, these contributions express a shared understanding of Queen’s strengths, ambitions, and responsibilities as we look toward our third century.
A message from the Principal and Vice-Chancellor
"The Bicentennial Vision reflects the insight and imagination of those who know this university best and I am deeply grateful to all who contributed to this process. Their engagement reflects what is most enduring about Queen’s — the capacity of individuals, joined by a shared sense of purpose, to imagine and build a better future."
