On October 15, 2026, Rhiannon Punch and Nasim Fadaie, Outreach and Education Coordinators with the Contaminants of Emerging Concern Research Excellence Network (CEC-REN) at Queen’s University, had the pleasure of presenting at a Source Protection Committee (SPC) meeting at Cataraqui Conservation Area.
During the presentation, they highlighted the challenges posed by contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), their potential impacts on water quality and aquatic ecosystems, and the innovative research being conducted at Queen’s University to detect and remove these contaminants from water.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to share scientific knowledge, engage with community representatives, and discuss the importance of protecting our water resources.
A sincere thank you to the Source Protection Committee for the warm welcome, thoughtful questions, and engaging discussions!
