Are you interested in learning more about I-EDIAA?
The Human Rights and Equity Office (HREO) invites you to take part in this year's HREO Learning Challenge between February and December 2023. The HREO Learning Challenge is a set of virtual and self-directed learning opportunities designed to build foundational understandings of Indigenization-Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility (I-EDIAA). This year’s Learning Challenge 2023 combines self-directed and experiential community-based learning.
How it Works:
-
Register for the Learning Challenge beginning February 2023. Offerings are appropriate for staff, students, and faculty
-
Complete two online asynchronous modules:
- Building Accountability: Identifying and Responding to Microaggressions in Our Community
- Ableism
-
Attend and participate in an Indigenization, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-racism, and/or Accessibility focused community event of your choice. Community events include but are not exclusive to guest lectures, conferences, town halls, gatherings, or community actions working toward I-EDIAA. Events may be local, national, global, student-run, or virtual.
-
Complete the follow-up self-reflection module to summarize your experience at the community event and connect your learning.
-
Receive a certificate of completion if all trainings are completed by December 15, 2023.
