Office of Partnerships and Innovation

Welcome to the Office of Partnerships and Innovation

In supporting and growing the research enterprise at Queen’s, the Office of Partnerships and Innovation (OPI) provides services and programs to faculty members, researchers, students, innovators, and entrepreneurs at the university, and to entrepreneurs, startups, SMEs and large industry within the region and Canada. The Office offers entrepreneurship programming and provides support and incubator space to accelerate high-potential startups in the Kingston region, and also engages with and provides support to scaleups and SMEs in the region. The Research Partnerships Unit within the OPI develops and promotes research and-or innovation partnerships among the university, industry, governments, and-or not-for-profits, including other academic institutions, and the Research Contracts Unit negotiates associated agreements between parties. Both units provide support to Queen’s researchers in developing and managing relationships, partnerships and collaborations with third parties. The Technology Transfer Unit provides the intellectual property and commercial expertise needed to advance discoveries or technologies invented by Queen’s faculty members, researchers, staff and students, as well as those from community entrepreneurs, to the marketplace. How can we help you?
