Entrepreneurs, Startups, and Small- to Medium-sized Enterprises

The Queen's Partnerships and Innovation (QPI) team supports the University’s strategic goal to build community partnerships and fully embed Queen’s in the community. QPI contributes to the building of deliberate, strategic, respectful, and mutually beneficial engagement with communities outside the University, including Kingston, the region, other organizations and institutions, and national and global networks that share our goals.

With support from external funding, the QPI team offers numerous services, resources and programs to support entrepreneurs, including those from Queen’s, and to accelerate the growth of startups and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within Kingston and Eastern Ontario.

Offerings include the Queen’s Startup Runway incubation program, various acceleration programs, intellectual property, and go-to-market services, workshops and events. We offer access to facilities in the Seaway Coworking  building in downtown Kingston. The QPI team also facilitates the building of relationships and collaborative projects with Queen's researchers and research/technical centres.

Additionally, Queen’s University together with Launch Lab and St. Lawrence College are regional partners to Invest Ottawa in the delivery of the Scale-Up Platform Project in Eastern Ontario. Programs, services, and resources are available to entrepreneurs and companies in Eastern Ontario that are advancing science-based, technology-based and/or software-based solutions.

QPI also supports women-led businesses across the greater Kingston region with a suite of strategic programs and services designed specifically for women-identifying entrepreneurs and delivered through the WE-CAN Project.

QPI is pleased to be a partner in the Health Innovation Kingston (HI YGK) Project led by the City of Kingston, providing programs and services to health innovation-focused eligible companies in the Kingston region.
