Rugby Consent Game

As part of this year’s Consent Week (September 21–25), Queen’s Athletics is encouraging teams to have meaningful conversations around consent, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and how we can create safer and more supportive team environments. Our Varsity Leadership Council team representatives will be facilitating discussions within their teams throughout the week, with a focus on education, reflection, and being better teammates and people.

Building on these conversations, the VLC is collaborating with SVPR and the Queen’s White Ribbon Chapter for our Rugby Consent Game on October 26 at Nixon Field, with the Men’s game at 3:00 PM and Women’s game at 5:00 PM.

White Ribbon is part of a global movement that engages men and boys in ending violence against women and girls. On game day, athletes will show their support by wearing white ribbons and white tape, and there will be an information booth with resources available for athletes and spectators. We would love to see heaps of fans and spectators there!!

The goal is to use sport as a platform to educate, start conversations, and encourage athletes to play an active role in creating a safer and more respectful community.
