Dr. Robel Abay is a Professor of Disability Studies at Alice Salomon University Berlin. Previously, he has worked as a research associate at the Institute of Sociology at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Germany. He holds a PhD from Humboldt University of Berlin on intersectional colonialities of racism and ableism. During his fellowship at Queen's University as a Visiting Professor of Sociology, he will work on his new research project on Intersectional Disability Justice (IDJ). His research and teaching interests include: Sociology of Disability; Technoableism; Decolonial Theories; Intersectional Disability Justice; Sociology of Race & Ethnic Relations; Crip Technoscience; Disability Studies & Critical Race Theory (DisCrit); Queer Migration; Climate & Social Justice; Gender & Queer Studies; Participatory Research.
