Research Interests
My research focuses on the sociology of education, Orientalism, Anti-Palestinian Racism, and the ways institutional discourses shape experiences of identity, speech, and belonging. My MA research used autoethnography to examine my experiences as a Palestinian Canadian educator navigating Orientalism and Anti-Palestinian Racism in Southern Ontario schools following October 7, 2023. For my doctoral research, I aim to build on my previous research and analyze how educators and students navigate Islamophobia within educational settings.
