The School of Policy Studies Professor (Term Adjunct) and Stauffer-Dunning Fellow Don Drummond recently published a report on Canada's fiscal challenges. This report is an edited version of remarks given to the 2026-27 Master of Public Administration cohort during their orientation.
In the report, Drummond warns that Canada's weak income performance and overreliance on US markets are not being taken seriously enough. It requires a comprehensive economic plan to re-establish fiscal stability to create a stronger, more resilient and diverse economy.
