Congratulations to PhD student, Ruqaiya Yousif, on placing first in the Queen’s “Capturing the Art of Research” contest, in the Climate Action Category.
Ruqaiya’s winning image, which was taken in Qatar, is titled, Gastropod Mummy. The description reads:
Undergraduate student, Logan Clancy, has recently received a grant from a local organization known as the Friends of Frontenac Provincial Park, to support Logan in creating a geologic map of Frontenac Provincial Park as part of her honours thesis.
In Logan’s words:
On May 1st, the GEOL 301 and GEOL 401 field trips departed from Miller Hall, the first time the courses have run in more than 2 years.
The five-day field trips focused on the sedimentological response to the changing tectonic environment during the Ordovician Taconic Orogeny.
