Colin Farrelly is a political theorist and Queen’s National Scholar with research and teaching interests in political philosophy and bioethics.  He has held academic appointments in philosophy, political science and public policy.  Colin received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bristol in 1999 and since then has held appointments at the University of Aberdeen, Birmingham University, Manchester University, Oxford University, Waterloo University and UCLA.  He is the author of Biologically Modified Justice (Cambridge University Press, 2016), Justice Democracy and Reasonable Agreement (Palgrave, 2007), An Introduction to Contemporary Political Theory (Sage, 2003) and co-editor (with Larry Solum) of Virtue Jurisprudence (Palgrave, 2008).  Colin’s journal publications include articles in philosophy, political science, law, medicine, science and feminism.  His publications include articles in Journal of Gerontology, Bioethics, American Journal of Bioethics, Journal of Medical Ethics, Nature’s EMBO Reports, British Medical Journal, Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, Hypatia, Political Studies, Philosophy of the Social Sciences, Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Ratio Juris, and University of Toronto Law Journal.
