Queen’s may, if it determines there is a potential for large unsanctioned gatherings in the near-campus neighbourhood, implement enhanced security to ensure no unauthorized alcohol is brought into Mitchell Hall, Queen’s Centre, Stauffer Library or the Athletics and Recreation Centre. When enhanced security is in place, signage will be posted at the venue entrances. It will be temporary but remain in place for as long as conditions warrant.
Individuals showing visible signs of over-intoxication or appear to be carrying open alcohol, who enter these university facilities may, at the discretion of security personnel, be asked to open bags for visual inspection, so security can verify no containers of alcoholic beverages are being brought into the facilities. Bag checks would only occur in these circumstances.
