Rapid Response – Queen’s SARS CoV-2/COVID-19 Research Opportunity

Dr. Alejandro Adem, the new President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) recently visited Queen’s University where he met with students and NSERC-funded researchers. The visit provided a platform to share questions and comments on the future of NSERC. Dr. Adem also attended an award event for Science Rendezvous Kingston, where coordinators Lynda Colgan and Kim Garrett received recognition as the best Science Rendezvous event in the country. The Wicked Ideas pilot competition is underway, having received more than 60 eligible Notices of Intent, and almost 50 full applications. A review panel, chaired by the Vice-Principal (Research), will be established to undertake an assessment of the full proposals, and selected teams will be invited to present/pitch to an adjudication panel comprising faculty researchers, community members, industry and other partners.

Resources for Research at Queen’s (R4R@Q) is a brown bag lunchtime series, hosted by University Research Services, intended to acquaint Queen’s researchers with the resources and people who are available to help. Sessions run once per month in Stauffer Library Room 121 from 12:30-1:30.
