Unofficial Documents Guidelines

We expect you to submit official documents whenever possible.  However, in extenuating or exceptional circumstances, we will consider unofficial documents.

If you are admitted based on an unofficial transcript, your offer of admission will be conditional, and an official transcript will be required by the deadline specified on your SOLUS Student Centre.  If you are unable to provide an official transcript by the deadline, your offer of admission will be revoked.

Unofficial transcripts must include: your name; the name of the school/university/college you attended; a complete listing of courses attempted, their credit value, and the grades awarded; a copy of the institution’s grading scale; and the graduation credential and date issued (if awarded).

Unofficial documents may include:

  1. A copy of an official transcript issued by an accredited university or college
  2. A transcript obtained from a self-serve university or college web system
  3. A copy of a high school credit counselling summary, or equivalent
  4. A copy of an official high school transcript issued by your school, school board, ministry of education, or examination body
  5. World Education Services (WES) credential authentication
  6. A copy of an unofficial exam result (e.g. SAT, ACT, AP)
  7. A copy of your Language Proficiency Test Score (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, CAEL, PTE Academic)

Please note:

  • All course and grade information for current Ontario secondary school applicants must be submitted via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre.  Unofficial transcripts submitted by current Ontario secondary school applicants will not be considered.
