Natalie Cann

Natalie Cann, former head, Department of Chemistry, died Dec. 15, 2019.

Born and raised in Campbellton, NB, Natalie excelled at academics eventually moving to Fredericton where she studied Chemistry and Mathematics. She continued her doctoral studies at Dalhousie University followed by The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial postdoctoral fellowship at UBC.

Natalie then moved to Kingston where she and her husband Brian started their family. She also began her career at Queens University culminating as a well-regarded head of the Chemistry Department.

Natalie will be sadly missed by her husband Brian and her two children, Alexander and Jennifer; sisters Carol Lévesque (Léo-James), Joanne Thomas (Allan) and Janet Cormier (Gérard); many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Mary (nee Imhoff) Goudreau.
