The Canadian Opinion Research Archive (CORA) at Queen’s University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Preference will be given to candidates with a background and research agenda in political science, but consideration will be given to applicants from other disciplines, including but not restricted to sociology, psychology, economics. The central requirement is a research agenda that gives serious attention to Canadian or comparative public opinion. The postdoctoral fellow will be based jointly in the Department of Political Studies and the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s. This a full-time position located in Kingston, Ontario.

This fellowship provides an opportunity to spend time in an intellectually stimulating environment conducting research and writing, as well as light duties associated with CORA (data analyses, event planning, communications, outreach, etc) not to exceed 5 hours per week. The postdoc will have the opportunity to present their work in research colloquia in the Department of Political Studies and the School of Policy Studies. The successful candidate will be eligible to compete for internal research funding. There might also be teaching opportunities in the candidate’s discipline, should the successful candidate be interested, which would be compensated separately. 

Total salary: $45,000. Reasonable moving expenses will also be considered in addition to salary. The fellowship is tenable for 12 months. Start date is flexible, though Oct. 1, 2022 is preferred. The postdoc may be renewable for a second 12-month period. 

Eligibility: preference will be given to citizens and permanent residents of Canada. Candidates must have been awarded a doctorate from a recognized university or expect to have completed all degree requirements by 30 September 2022.
