Rowan Kang Li

Biography

Rowan Kang Li (they/them) is a PHD candidate working under the joint supervision of Dr. Petra Fachinger at Queen’s and Dr. Larissa Lai at the University of Toronto. Their dissertation investigates racial melancholia, grief, and haunting in the context of contemporary Chinese Canadian diasporic fiction. Rowan does additional work in Caribbean studies, ecocriticism, and queer theory, as well as publishing poetry and engaging in research creation practices. Their most recent article, co-authored with Dr. Julien Lefort-Favreau, is entitled “Traduire la Révolution tranquille: Harvest House Ltd et le nationalisme de l’imprimé” and is forthcoming with the Papers of the Bibliographic Society of Canada. Adjacent to their academic work, they co-host Was It Good?: A Literary Podcast with Sidney Robichaud, available on all podcast streaming platforms.
