The 2017 Queen’s International Innovation Challenge is an opportunity for students to use their analytics skills and creativity to solve one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century – Food Security. 

Over the next few weeks, we will be using our Facebook group for communications purposes.  Please join the group to stay in touch! You can use this to reach out to past and current participants of the Challenge.

Our official registration website will be available on September 15. We will post the link on Facebook when it is ready.

The only restriction we have is that all participants must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational program (certificate, diploma, degree or post-doctoral fellowship) throughout the duration of the Challenge (October 6, 2017 to November 24, 2017).  We also encourage Institutions to appoint a faculty mentor to their teams to maintain the quality and productivity of their student teams.  This is not required but will be helpful for your students!

We encourage teams to work on problems that are significant and personal.  Creativity and originality are awarded in the Challenge.  We have attached a few examples to this document.  They are illustrations and by no means limiting.  During our opening event (which is recorded and will be shown via Facebook), we will have a number of speakers who will discuss different types of problems or questions surrounding food security.
