The 2019 Barry Smith Symposium aims to introduce and tackle issues that are important for healthcare and systemic change, but that are not normally a part of the curriculum. We hope to educate students so that they can recognize the challenges ahead of them, and to inspire them to take action in the face of these challenges. The event is held in a panel format, and as such, emphasizes discussion and interaction with the audience.

This year we will be joined by a highly esteemed panel to share their views on Legal Cannabis: One Year Later. We are pleased to welcome Trina Fraser, Dr. Peter Blecher, Dr. Dan Malleck, Dr. Melissa Snider-Adler, and Dr. Oyedeji Ayonrinde as our featured speakers, and Dr. Priya Gupta as our moderator.

The event will be taking place on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm in the School of Medicine Building, on 15 Arch street. Please join us for food and refreshments at 4:30 pm in the atrium, which will be followed by the symposium at 5pm in room 132A.
