Students with interest in Public Affairs are encouraged to attend. Ms. Aleong was the Atlantic Regional Director and Senior Trade Commissioner for Global Affairs Canada from September 2013 to August 2018. Ms. Aleong is the recipient of two departmental Merit Awards and the Minister for International Trade Citation Award for Trade Service, as well as the prestigious Canadian Foreign Service Officer Award from the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers. In 2013, she received Canada's Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. She holds an MSc from McGill University, an MLIS from the University of Western Ontario and a BAH from Queen's University.
