In this multi-voice panel on the National Day of WIL, panelists from across the WIL ecosystem reflect on what belonging and equity mean to them. This conversation offers a space to deepen our understanding of the lived realities of equity-deserving students – hearing directly from student voices, as well as the community partners and WIL professionals who support them. Panelists will share stories of queer and trans advocacy, anti-Islamophobia, and decolonizing practices in response to the barriers students regularly encounter in job search and placement environments.
By naming these challenges and exploring possible pathways forward, the conversation invites us to consider how we can better support students’ agency while practising collective responsibility.
