Description:

Join us for a conversation on anxiety, identity, resilience, and the power of storytelling to support reflection, connection, and wellbeing.

We are pleased to welcome award-winning author and storyteller David A. Robertson for a special Thrive 365 noon-hour conversation. He is one of Canada's most celebrated contemporary writers. A two-time Governor General's Literary Award winner, he has also received the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award and the Writers' Union of Canada Freedom to Read Award. In addition to writing, he is a podcaster, public speaker, and advocate whose work often explores identity, resilience, intergenerational experience, and mental health.
In his recent book, All the Little Monsters: How I Learned to Live with Anxiety, Robertson shares his personal experiences with anxiety through storytelling, reflection, and vulnerability. This session will create space for the Queen's community to reflect on the role of stories in helping us understand mental health, navigate challenge, and build connection.

Participants can expect to:

  • Hear reflections from David A. Robertson on anxiety, identity, storytelling, and resilience
  • Explore how personal narratives can support mental health awareness and reduce stigma
  • Reflect on the connection between culture, belonging, and wellbeing
  • Consider how storytelling can help create more compassionate and connected communities

David A. Robertson is also one of Queen's 2026 honorary degree recipients.
