Dermatology - Procedural Skills

Description:

Join the Division of Dermatology at the Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston Water’s Edge for a half-day program filled with dermatology procedural skills for practical implementation in patient care.

Practical Skills to include:

  • Warts - How to get the most out of paring, liquid nitrogen and topicals    
  • Scrapings and Swabs for bacteria, fungi and viruses 
  • Curettage and Shave    
  • Punch Biopsy    
     

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
1.    Integrate dermatology procedural skills into their primary care practice (Medical Expert)
2.    Identify indications and contraindications for performing these procedural skills and when to
       refer them (Medical Expert/Professional)
3.    Discuss these procedures and their potential outcomes with patients and colleagues
       (Communicator/Collaborator)

Credits:
This Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Queen’s University for up to 3.75 Mainpro+ credits. This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is approved by the Office of Continuing Professional Development, Queen’s University. You may claim a maximum of 3.75 hours.
