A Discussion On Foreign Interference With The Honourable Michael Chong

Queen’s International Affairs Association and the Institute of Intergovernmental Relations are pleased to be welcoming the Honourable Micheal Chong, Member of Parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs to campus on Thursday, February 29th. MP Chong was the target of a political campaign by the People’s Republic of China after condemning China’s treatment of Muslim Uyghurs, speaking out against China's detention of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, and criticizing Huawei’s involvement in Canada’s 5G Network. MP Chong will discuss his experience as a target of Chinese foreign interference and how Canada should move forward in combating foreign threats to our democracy. All undergraduate, graduate students and faculty members are invited to attend and ask questions. The discussion will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Ellis Hall Auditorium and food will be provided for all attendees.
