Doughnuts in Purgatory – A Taste of Trauma-informed Cancer Care

Objectives:

• increased awareness of the prevalence of trauma-affected cancer patients;
• understand potential impacts of childhood/pre-existing trauma in cancer patients’ treatments and outcomes;
• be able to identify a specific area of practice that could be more trauma sensitive;
• be inspired to employ at least one strategy that improves care

About the speaker:
Christine Fader was a career advisor at Queen’s University for 20 years and brings her lived experience supporting her husband through two primary cancers to her work as a volunteer patient and family advisor with Cancer Care Ontario, the Southeastern Ontario Cancer Centre at KHSC, and the Lung Health Foundation.
