Description:

Presented in collaboration with ToneDeaf.

EarWitness is a deeply integrated virtuosic mix of sound, image, and unspoken narrative challenging traditional conceptions of piano and pianist, performed by Eve Egoyan.

Eve will be performing both on the traditional grand piano and a disklavier -- an acoustic piano with a computer interface -- skillfully improvising music as each note adds to a graphic film projection behind her. This concert features works by Linda Catlin Smith, Nicole Lizée, John Oswald, Michael Snow, and Eve Egoyan/David Rokeby.

LINDA CATLIN SMITH - Thought and Desire
(piano and amplified voice)

NICOLE LIZÉE - David Lynch Études
(amplified piano, amplified voice/foot stomping/guitar and soundtrack with video)

MICHAEL SNOW - EVE(solo piano for Eve Egoyan)
(prepared disklavier, voice, movement and video)

EVE EGOYAN/DAVID ROKEBY - Surface Tension
(disklavier and real-time video)

EVE EGOYAN Duet for solo piano
(new work for sampling disklavier)
