2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Where:

Description:

The Globe and Mail Feminist Reading Group is an exercise in collective reading that takes the daily paper as a starting point for a wide-ranging and informal conversation about contemporary media and visual culture through the lens of feminisms. Issues of the paper are discussed on the day they are published, so preparation is not mandatory. Some copies of the paper will be available on site; feel free to bring your own. The Reading Group is free and open to all.

The Globe and Mail Feminist Reading Group is based on the ongoing series, The New York Times Feminist Reading Group, which has been performed several times a year since 2009 at the New Museum, The Brooklyn Museum’s Sackler Center for Feminist Art, the University of Southern California, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, and elsewhere.

Jen Kennedy is an Ontario-based artist, writer, and Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen’s University. Liz Linden is a New York-based artist. They have collaborated since 2008 on a number of projects that explore the semantics of contemporary feminisms. Presented in conjunction with Ciara Phillips: Comrade Objects.
