Kingston Branch Cha Gheill Luncheon - The Oasis Model

Description:

Dr. Vince DePaul of Queen's Rehabilitation Therapy will join us to describe the Oasis model and its innovative, home-grown approach to supporting seniors living in their own homes. This presentation will describe the program, which started at Kingston’s Bowling Green apartment complex roughly 10 years ago, and the current project which involves expanding to seven communities across Ontario.

About Dr. DePaul:
Dr. Vince DePaul is a physiotherapist and Assistant Professor with Queen's University's School of Rehabilitation Therapy, in Kingston Ontario. He received his physiotherapy degree from McMaster University and worked as a clinician for many years in Hamilton. He completed his PhD in Rehabilitation Science in 2013 at McMaster University, followed by post-doctoral training in Toronto at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. In 2015 he joined the faculty at Queen’s in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy. Dr. DePaul’s clinical and research work is focused on helping individuals stay mobile and active as they age, and recover mobility function after a stroke or other neurological condition.
