Mawlid al-Nabīy (beginning at sunset to sunset of the next day) and Eve of Sukkot

Mawlid al-Nabīy is the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muḥammad. Some Muslims mark this occasion by fasting or with parades, special prayers or conferences. Other Muslims may mark the occasion by dedicating more time to read the Qur‘an. (Special worship, including prayers, fasting and other observances begin at sunset and are generally observed until sunset of the following day.)

Observance begins at sundown. Religious accommodation may be required for this observance/holy day. Suspension of work/classes may be requested by observant. Accommodation for Jewish Reform: eve of Sukkot + first day: non-working; Accommodation for Jewish Orthodox: eve of Sukkot + first two days: non-working.
