Online Trauma Sensitive Yoga

The Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office is excited to be offering free online trauma sensitive yoga to all Queen’s students this semester! Yoga sessions begin the week of January 25th and happen biweekly until the beginning of April. These yoga sessions are offered in two different formats, webinar (no audience engagement) and small group (group check-ins before and after practice, cameras on are welcome). You can register by emailing Community Outreach and Student Support Worker Taylor MacPherson at . Links to sessions will be sent out to registered participants in advance of each session.

The first small group session begins Monday January 25th ay 7pm and the first webinar session is on Wednesday January 27th at 7pm. 

Wondering what trauma sensitive yoga is?

Trauma sensitive yoga involves a facilitator who has a solid understanding of what trauma is, how it affects us, and how to approach trauma within a yoga setting. Trauma sensitive yoga involves adjusting exercises for all kinds of comfort, checking in frequently, and using body neutral language.
