Description:

The School of Environmental Studies at Queen's University is pleased to support a public lecture by Simon Jackson of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition on Sunday January 21st 2018 beginning 4:00pm at the Discovery Centre, Fort Henry.

Simon led the campaign to save the spirit bear for two decades, helping create the largest land protection measure in North American history. For his efforts he was named Hero for the Planet by Time Magazine and was the inspiration for the movie Spirit Bear: The Simon Jackson Story. Today, Simon leverages his skills and experiences as a strategist to help diverse clients secure a social license to advance good ideas that will benefit society. Simon is a widely published author, as well as lead storyteller for GhostBearPhotography.com.

The Simon Jackson public lecture is part of the Queen's Sustainability Conference organized by student-led QSUS.  This event is free and includes a complimentary dinner from Tulips & Maple — but spaces are limited.
