When:
Monday, September 14, 2026
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where:
Description:

Every employee deserves to feel valued for the work they do. Meaningful appreciation and recognition—especially when it happens regularly—strengthens engagement, trust, and connection at work. This session focuses on developing constructive, authentic approaches to recognizing individual and everyday accomplishments, not just major milestones.  Participants will also reflect on their own preferences for recognition, helping to build greater awareness of how appreciation is experienced differently by individuals. The session includes practical takeaways, a participant guide for ongoing reflection, and an overview of the Queen's University Appreciation and Recognition Toolkit, offering tools to support meaningful recognition in day-to-day work.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the role of appreciation and recognition in supporting employee wellbeing, engagement, and workplace culture
  • Identify practical, everyday ways to recognize individual contributions in authentic and meaningful ways
  • Reflect on personal preferences for recognition and how these may differ from those of others
  • Apply inclusive recognition practices that help people feel seen, valued, and motivated
  • Access and use the Queen's University Appreciation and Recognition Toolkit to support recognition efforts in the workplace

The Microsoft Teams link for this session will be shared with registered participants, one week in advance.
