The purpose of Queen’s Africa Day (QAD) is to increase the awareness of, and promote, the current involvement of the Queen’s community in academic research and teaching pertaining to Africa and the African Diasporic studies. The event aims to foster dialogue between Queen’s students, faculty, staff, and the wider Queen’s, Kingston, and surrounding communities. Likewise, the event seeks to be an umbrella academic and social celebration for researchers, academic associations and community associations with interests in Africa-related issues.
