John Smol (Biology) is this year’s Canadian Association of University Teachers Distinguished Academic. This award is given to someone who has excelled in teaching, research and service. We’d like to take this opportunity to honour John’s achievement with a talk and reception at the University Club (George Teves Dining Room). John’s engaging talk is titled “A crisis in science literacy and communication: Does reluctance to engage the public make academic scientists complicit?” The talk at 1:30pm will be followed by a Quaff with QUFA reception at 3pm in the same venue.
