Free, informed and ongoing consent is one of the most important aspects of research with human participants. This interactive workshop will provide participants with a chance to learn more about the informed consent process; alternative options to obtain consent; and waivers of consent. Interactive activities will give researchers a chance to learn about the basics of informed consent, practice reviewing and drafting informed consent forms and become familiar with practical informed consent tools and resources available by the Office of Research Ethics Compliance
Participants at this session will:
- Learn about the basics elements of informed consent forms
- Learn about the resources available to write good informed consent forms
- Practice Reviewing and drafting informed consent forms
- Learn about alternate strategies for obtaining informed consent and waivers of consent
