Sustainable Living Series: Carbon Explained - Part One

This two part learning session lead by Nathan Splinter, Manager, Energy and Sustainability at Queen’s, will provide attendees an overview of what greenhouse gases are, their measurement and influences. We will also cover how they are generated, the targets and plans that exists, and how projects at the university along with individual decisions and actions in your daily life can influence the rate of climate change around us and the policies governing it’s mitigation.

In the first session we will focus on what greenhouse gases are and how they impact our environment. We will cover the various sources of emissions and how they are measured, and discuss the main contributors in our Province as well as at our University. Lastly we will review the University and Federal reduction targets and how well we are tracking to them.
