[Virtual] Reconnections: capturing a Queen’s community
As a way of documenting this unprecedented moment in time, the Office of the Associate Vice-Principal (International) has launched this contest to build community and generate virtual connections in a time of increased physical distancing. Students across the Queen’s community and across the globe – from any nationality, and whether they are studying for a full degree or were at Queen’s on exchange this year – are experiencing the impacts COVID-19 in many different ways. This collation of photos will demonstrate the diversity of experience that arises from a single, common event.
How it works:
Students are invited to submit a photo that relates to their pandemic experience. This could be around the themes of social distancing, ways of maintaining their mental health, changes at Queen’s or in Kingston, experiences abroad related to COVID-19, or any other theme that speaks to students' own experience. Once all the submissions have been received, select photos will be collated into an online gallery. A panel will determine ten winners and a shortlist of photos for the ‘People’s Choice’ category. The People’s Choice winner will be voted for by members of the Queen’s community, Kingston community and friends around the globe. All winning photos will receive a prize of CAD$100 each.
