What Is…? is a series of casual and introductory talks focusing on subjects connected to current Agnes exhibitions and topical subjects in the art world.

Join Emy Kim, Queen's Assistant Professor, Artifacts Conservation, as she leads a talk on art conservation. She'll touch upon the role of a conservator in a museum, conservation training, ethics and some of the techniques used.

Speaker Biography: Emy Kim is the Assistant Professor of Artifacts Conservation in Master of Art Conservation Program at Queen’s University. She has worked in Canada and the US at the Royal Ontario Museum, Aga Khan Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University, SFO Airport Museum, and Brooklyn Museum. Emy received her conservation training from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, an MA in art history at Williams College, and a BA from Princeton University. She is also currently a PhD student at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto, where she studies modern metals history.
