Panel Discussion: Does Canada's Oil Boom Threaten Freshwater?

Description:

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jérôme Marty to participate in a panel discussion on the potential impacts of oil spills to Canada’s freshwater ecosystems. Dr. Marty is a limnologist, currently Project Director at the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA). In the recent years, he contributed to several risk and sensitivity analyses for oil spills, highlighting the need for coordinated assessments and research on oil behaviour and impacts in freshwaters. The panel will highlight the state of knowledge and needs for science in freshwater in relation to oil production and transportation in Canada.
