Prof Lafreniere is seeking a part-time lab technician (0.6 FTE) for a two year contract (with possibility of extension for an additional 3 years).

The lab supports a range of research projects investigating how climate and permafrost change are altering the hydrology and the fate and transport of organic matter, nutrients and contaminants in Arctic Watersheds. The facility houses analytical instruments to quantitfy and characterize various chemical components and water quality parameters in samples collected from Arctic streams, lakes, ponds and soils.  The primary role of the technician is to operate instrumentation and perform chemical analyses of water samples including, total organic carbon (TOC) and total organic nitrogen (TN), dissolved organic matter fluorescence, and water stable isotopes.
