Anne O'Riordan

Knowledge User/Patient Partner

After a career in healthcare, as an occupational therapist and educator at Queen’s University, Anne used her experiences of being a patient and caregiver to contribute to health care improvement as a patient partner.

She began this journey in 2017 as a Patient Experience Advisor at Kingston Health Sciences Centre with membership on the Patient Family Advisory Council. At the regional level, she sits on the Community Council and Health Home working group for the Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Ontario Health Team. Anne collaborates with many health organizations including Canada Health Infoway, Digital Health Canada, Healthcare Excellence Canada, and the Canadian Institute for Health Information. She is a Patient Partner Evaluator at the Centre for Digital Health Evaluation and was recently accepted by Accreditation Canada to begin training as a Patient Surveyor. She is a collaborator in research projects in virtual care, digital compassion, and mental health.

Anne has received the designation of Fellow in Person-Centered Care by Planetree International. She strives to be a positive agent of change within the healthcare system, encouraging providers to offer compassionate, responsive, accessible care and caring in partnership with patients, caregivers, and families.
