Join us for a candid and inspiring fireside chat with WE-CAN client Tammy Watson, founder of Canadian Handywoman and one of five national winners of last summer’s StartUp Canada Equal Slice Pitch Competition held at Google Canada’s Toronto headquarters.

Tammy’s authentic and heartfelt three-minute live pitch earned her a $10,000 grant to grow her business, though she admits she initially questioned whether she should even submit her application.

In this fireside chat, we’ll hear how Tammy overcame self-doubt to pitch with power.

Tammy Watson is the Founder of the Canadian Handywoman and a long-time WE-CAN participant. A proud member of the LGBT2S community, Tammy has been breaking barriers in the trades since launching Canadian Handywoman, a business dedicated to empowering through hands-on training to be confident, capable and in control at home, in business, and in life.

ABOUT THE WE-CAN PROJECT:
The WE-CAN Project is led by Queen’s University with a mission to inspire and empower existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs by providing them with tools, resources, expert mentors, networks and community building to expand existing businesses and to launch new ventures. Since launching in 2020, the WE-CAN Project has supported more than 1,600 women entrepreneurs in launching, growing and scaling their business in the greater Kingston region.
