Dr. Denise Stockley completed her Doctorate in the Psychology of Education at Simon Fraser University and has built an extensive career advancing both classroom-based and online learning. Her work is grounded in the belief that learning is not one-size-fits-all, and that meaningful educational experiences emerge when we move beyond traditional approaches and embrace diverse ways of learning.
Dr. Stockley joined Queen’s University in 2001 and is currently the Director of the Queen’s Institute for Educational Scholarship and Research (QIESR). She is a Professor and Scholar in Higher Education with the Office of the Provost (Teaching and Learning Portfolio) and the Faculty of Health Sciences. She also served as Past-President of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE). Her work has been supported by the Tri-Council (SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR) and the Networks of Centres of Excellence. She contributes to national and international scholarship in higher education, with work spanning educational scholarship, research ethics, and health professions education.
