Membership Update

Dear QWA Members:

I am very pleased to announce that the Executive is extending your current membership in the Queen’s Women’s Association to January 31, 2021. As you know, interest groups ended in March so that packing and other activities could commence. We know some of what Queen’s is mandating for September through December, but what Queen’s decides is dependent upon the COVID situation. In short, we do not know, so it is prudent to err on the side of caution. Consequently few, if any, activities will take place in our new venue in the Fall. Your Executive will address the membership issue again in November, and we welcome your input on the matter.

The renovations at 187A King West are progressing. The Relocation Committee and member volunteers are busy with tasks. The gardening sub-committee has not been officially formed, due to the never-ending heatwave. Queen’s gardeners did a stellar job of cleaning up the yard, but it now needs a good weeding. The Executive is exploring parking permits and parking space rentals.

Taking into account the current pandemic, Karen Morgan, our V.P. of Events is working hard on the planning of the QWA members’ house tour. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. We will keep you informed on that and other events.

In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful summer, stay healthy, and enjoy the extension of your QWA membership. See you in the Fall!

Valerie Klassen

President, Queen’s Women’s Association
