David Kerr

David is a recently-retired Geological Engineer, specializing in the geological modeling of mineral deposits and the genetic controls on ore formation.

For most of his career, he was an independent consultant, and his clients varied from junior mineral exploration companies to the exploration arms of vertically-integrated, major mining companies, such as Anglo-American and Cominco (now Teck Resources).

David’s practical experience was at the upstream end of the Mineral Cycle, from project generation and grassroots exploration, through discovery and ore deposit modeling, to ore resource estimation at both pre-feasibility and production stages.

The principal jurisdictions in which he worked were central Canada, Peru, Brazil, Turkey, Bulgaria, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Burkina Faso, Mali, Cote D’Ivoire and Tanzania, and the commodity sectors were gold, copper, tin, and zinc-lead-silver.

David is also a shareholder in a private exploration and mining company in Brazil, with a historical focus on gold and mineral aggregates. He lives in Kingston, Ontario and serves on the Board of two not-for-profit corporations. David is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, the Society of Economic Geologists and the Toronto Geological Discussion Group.
